hy "care-for-life"? Actually, the reasons are many.                             For one thing, there is no shortage of adoptable dogs and cats anywhere. Factually, every single shelter in the nation is overwhelmed with unwanted animals. Sadly, all of the animals turned in will normally be euthanized within a three to five day period if not adopted by someone. Whether young or old, these innocent creatures will die - some by barbaric, horrific means and methods. Too, how many times have you seen "free to good home" classifieds ads in your local newspaper or scrap pieces of paper posted on your own veterinarian clinic's bulletin board offering unwanted animals? Just as troubling, how about the thousands of suffering animals we don't even know about - like the ones who eventually die from their abusers and are thrown away like yesterday's garbage. Sadly, we'll never know the true statistics for those pitiful, helpless, lost lives. So, when we're asked why we believe in "care-for-life" for the hundreds of animals that have called The Trixie Foundation home over the past twenty years - the answer is quite simple: there are literally millions of other beautiful, deserving animals out there available for adoption who all deserve a chance. Truthfully, these are the animals that need to be adopted
and given an opportunity to live a long and happy life - not the pampered animals that The Trixie Foundation rescues or accepts for lifetime care at its large, 153 acre no-kill sanctuary, Eden...
